Need to clean up an image?

Are you ready to learn a quick way to clean up an image in Cricut Design Space? It can be a little bit intimidating when learning how to use the program or picking up a new skill. I don't know about you, but I like to learn one new skill at a time and really master each one. Now, let's walk you through this process step by step to get you creating new projects in no time.

Step One

Choose your Design

For this tutorial I chose an image that I got from Creative Fabrica, it's actually a free Mermaid Off Duty SVG. Creative Fabrica actually has an entire library of free fonts and SVG files.

Step Two

Upload to Design Space

You have your design all picked out, next up you are going to upload your image to Cricut Design Space to begin cleaning it up. To upload if you've never done it before will be at the bottom of the screen and has an arrow pointing up inside of a cloud. The word upload is also under it.

Step Three

Clean up your Image

Now, all that is left is to clean it up! You are going to use the Remove tool on the bottom left. Remove all of the negative space in your design. The Remove tool will remove all of the same color from your design. Therefore if you click on white it will remove all connected white and so on.

If your image happens to have rough edges there is a way to smooth edges in Cricut Design Space. On an iPad or iPhone after you clean up your image and tap Next you will tap Smooth at the bottom right. After you tap it on the bottom right Smooth will pop up on top of it, that is what you will repeatedly tap until you get your desired results. and thats is how to smooth edges in Cricut Design Space.
